Top Ten UK Fish and Chip Shops

A great British pleasure, fish and chips are one of our favourite dishes.  The taste of good fish and chips can evoke childhood memories of happy day’s at the seaside and whilst they were once a staple food in the UK, they are now considered to be something of a treat that we look forward to.

As we have become aware of not eating too much saturated fat and carbohydrate in our diet in recent years, we tend to eat fish and chips a little less often, but cooked correctly and with a sensible portion size, fish and chips are a food that can feature regularly in a healthy balanced diet and should be enjoyed guilt free.

A good fish and chip shop is worth seeking out and many foodies now plan trips to taste the best that the country has to offer.

The Seafish ‘National Fish and Chip Awards’ which are now in their 27th year, are considered by the industry to be the highest accolade that a fish and chip shop can win, and as such they set the benchmark for the best of the best.  You can even download an app for your smart-phone or tablet from the Seafish website that will provide you with an interactive guide to the very best performing UK fish and chip takeaways and restaurants from the past 25 years! (app details)
